Osteopathy
Osteopathy is form of manual therapy. There are different techniques and treatments that your osteopath may use to help treat your ailment. Regardless of the treatment approach, your osteopath will discuss the evidence and effects behind each technique. You may also be advised with regards to exercise, given guidance on diet, and given postural advice, and so on, as is relevant to your case. If you have any concerns or queries about your treatment please speak to your osteopath.
What to expect when visiting your osteopath
After your assessment your osteopath will discuss with you their diagnosis. Sometimes due to the complexity of a patients case for example, a patient may need further medical investigations including a referral to a GP from your osteopath. In such circumstances, your osteopath may not be able to treat you but will instead offer advice and education on the condition, why they are unable to treat you this session, and what your next steps are.
